Springfield Park Trunk-or-Treat

Thursday, October 29 · 5:00 PM–7:00 PM · Springfield Park Elementary · 4301 Fort McHenry Parkway, Glen Allen, VA 23060

We’re joining Springfield Park Elementary’s Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat, and we’d love for you to be part of it with us! Come help decorate our trunk, hand out candy, and spend time getting to know families in our community. Contact Josh if you’d like to help so we can coordinate.

Setup begins at 4:00 pm, and additional candy donations are welcome!

As guests of the school, we’ll follow their guidelines: keep costumes and decorations kid-friendly, with no weapons (including pretend ones) or religious messages, materials, or promotional items.

Halloween Afternoon Gathering

Saturday, October 31 · 3:00 PM–4:30 PM · 1200 Wilmington Ave, Richmond, VA 23227

On Halloween, we’ll gather earlier, beginning at 3:00 pm and finishing at 4:30 pm at our usual location, so everyone has plenty of time to spend the evening with their neighbors. We encourage you to make the most of that opportunity! Hand out candy, walk around with your family, linger for a conversation, and get to know the people who live around you. These simple moments are meaningful ways to love our neighbors and build relationships.

October 31 · After our 4:30 pm finish

Make room for your neighbors.

Halloween brings people out of their homes. After we gather, head back to your neighborhood and look for simple ways to show Christ’s love through hospitality, curiosity, and care.

Be present

Learn a name.

Welcome families, introduce yourself, and make time for a conversation. Look for someone you haven’t met yet.

Be curious

Ask and listen.

Try, “How has this season been for your family?” Listen for what brings joy or weighs on their heart.

Be open

Let faith enter naturally.

When the conversation welcomes it, ask, “Has faith been part of your story?” or “Is there something I can pray with you about?” Share briefly, listen well, and respect their response.

A good next step might be exchanging names, offering help, or making plans to connect again. Give the relationship time to grow.
